With the number 1 and 4 players in Home Security coming together today, it looks even less likely than ever that the traditional home security players will look for ways to make home security more affordable. And not only have they merged, but it looks like they will have some very healthy financial backing, so look out for even more consolidation in the future. A cynic may argue that by combining two heavyweights, that leaves one less competitor in overlapping markets. But some are also arguing that deals like this are a recognition that home control is embarking on a new phase of growth, where customers are looking at far more than securing their home with these in-home systems.
With this behemoth gaining steam, many of the other traditional security providers may be scrambling, but not Korner. As far as we're concerned, the world needs home security under $100 that sets up in minutes more than ever!
